You will be picked up from your hotel in a comfortable air-conditioned Van, minibus (depending on the size of the group). Then you will head to the oldest streets in the Western Hemisphere in the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo, a 16-block neighborhood that oozes Dominican history and culture.
Your first look at the Colonial Zone occurs at the Columbus Palace. Completed in 1514, it was the home of Christopher Columbus’s son, Diego. From the palace, you will walk through the historic Plaza de España and up to Calle Las Damas, the first paved street in the New World. The final destination is one of the most important sites in the Dominican Republic: the first cathedral of the New World.
